  Maximization of Business Efficiency and Services by Consolidating Optical Semiconductor Business
  USHIO EPITEX INC. announced that the company will consolidate the business with USHIO OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, INC. effective July 1, 2016.
  By consolidating the LED business of USHIO EPITEX INC. and the semiconductor laser business of USHIO OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, INC., USHIO Group will be able to increase the efficiency of the optical semiconductor business and respond to an increasingly diverse business environment swiftly and effectively to further improve the services.
  The company (President and CEO: Hiroaki Banno), which was established in July 1989 and renamed from EPITEX INC. to USHIO EPITEX INC. in June 2015, manufactures and distributes custom LEDs and photo sensors.
  The company (President and CEO: Uichiro Kobayashi) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of USHIO INC., established in July 2014, which has taken over the LED business and the red, blue, and infrared laser diode business from Oclaro Japan, Inc.
